EDITORIAL EXPERIENCE

02/2008 – present — Calliope: Voice of the Writers

Co-founder and editor of an international online literary magazine with issues published monthly. Responsible for selecting and editing submissions; producing weekly editorial columns; monitoring and screening comments in the forums; responding to reader and writer e-mails; creating and distributing flyers for advertisement; and designing and maintaining the Calliope website (http://calliope.jimdo.com).

09/2007 – present – William Hauben Heritage Foundation

Editor/Executive Assistant. Part-time. Responsible for compiling and editing the manuscript for two non-fiction books. Involves research, organization of compiled materials, editing, taking dictations, and writing book proposals and introductory segments for the text.

Involves instructing students in academic writing styles, reading and editing multiple drafts of students essays and providing suggestions for revision, instructing students in rhetorical theory, and engaging students in exercises to improve their abilities as writers.
