Involved in part-time freelance editing and proofreading for one long-term, ongoing client as well as various other clients.
2008 to 2009 Calliope: Voice of the Writers
Creator and chief editor of an online literary magazine. Involved screening, editing, and publishing submissions to the online magazine. Also included writing original content for the magazine’s editorial sections. Though the magazine is no longer active, the past publications can still be accessed at http://www.calliopewriters.com.
2007 to 2009 William Hauben Heritage Foundation
Editor/Executive Assistant. Part-time. Responsible for compiling and editing the manuscript for a non-fiction book. Involved research, organization of compiled materials, editing, writing book proposals, and composing segments for the text.
OTHER WORK EXPERIENCE
2008 to 2010 Carvalho’s Friends of a Feather
Assistant Location Manager/Animal Handler/Performer for the 2008 IAAPA award-winning show Critter Castaways at Busch Gardens, Tampa. Full-time. Responsibilities include the daily care and training of approximately 30 animals, overseeing the daily performance of a team of seven handlers/perfomers, and helping the Location Manager in interviewing, hiring, and training cast members. Also includes a performance role (three to four shows daily).
